According to Sputnik Armenia, the Armenian government decided on November 5, 2026, to close the state-run Berd Military Hospital. The hospital is part of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense.
Berd Medical Center CJSC will take over medical care for military units and subdivisions stationed in the Berd region. The center will arrange care and medical services for service members, people with equivalent status, and their families.
The hospital will close after the medical center completes the work needed to arrange that care and those services. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health have been tasked with ensuring the work is completed. The ministries have also been instructed to organize medical support and therapeutic and preventive measures in the region’s military units and subdivisions.
